Fulton's first Eco Umbrella - Made from Recycled Materials
Introducing the stylish
Eco Planet folding umbrella by Fulton in a
Natural Bloom design of blue, lilac and purple flowers over the canopy. This umbrella features a canopy of 100% PET fabric, which has been made completely from recycled plastic bottles. Furthermore, in the usual manufacture of the waterproof coating on umbrellas, PFCs are commonly used. However, these chemicals are also known to persist in the atmosphere and can contribute to climate change. With this in mind, Fulton are now using PFC waterproof coatings and PFC water repellent treatment for a shake-dry use. The handle on this umbrella is also made from beautiful bamboo, which is sustainably sourced, thereby avoiding the usual plastic handles found on folding umbrellas. The storage sleeve for this umbrella also features a bamboo Fulton branded charm. Above all, the high quality of a Fulton Umbrella means it is built to last, with less of a need to replace your umbrella, this increases their sustainability and reduces their environmental impact. The metal frame is wind-resistant and has been designed to withstand inversion in normal wind conditions. Should inversion happen, to restore its shape, simply close the umbrella as and re-open the canopy as normal.
As part of Fulton's wider attention to sustainability and the environment, the company is:
- Measuring & reporting their carbon footprint with the Planet Mark
- Committed to an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions
- Donating to the Eden Project to support education on climate change
- Protecting an acre of endagered rainforest in Peru
- Contributing to the UN Sustainable Developemtn Goals
